In 2015, Bartel saw the light when Martijn & Martijn opened the student café Fest at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. The ambitious manager Hannah decided to join the duo. She proved to be a valuable addition to the team, and thus a new and lasting collaboration was born. It was such a success that Bartel made further advancements in 2018 by opening Bar-Restaurant LELY and taking over café De Groene Olifant. At the end of the Corona era, Bartel burst out of the starting blocks with another new location: Café Blooker. Subsequently, Café Kanis was added to the group in January 2024. This brings the total to five authentic establishments. Each is a unique location spread across Amsterdam, each with its own concept, atmosphere, and experience.
