Fun fact: history of the KNSM Island
KNSM Island owes its name to the Royal Dutch Steamship Company. This company dates from 1 October 1856 and was immediately awarded the predicate 'royal' by then King William III at its founding. His name would be carried by the first ship. The company's ships sailed in the nineteenth century to St. Petersburg, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Bordeaux, and the Mediterranean region.
